Dr. Gurdeep Nagar was born in 1969 in a rural village of Punjab. Her childhood years up until the present day have been intertwined with both Eastern and Western influences, frequently traveling between the two countries as her parents lived in the UK. From a very young age, her interest in humanity and well-being enabled her to follow her path to a career in medicine.
After graduating as a medical doctor from India she joined her family to further her career in the United Kingdom. This cross-over of two cultures had a significant impact on her view of life, different cultures, and inspirations.
Having reached her goals in her professional field, she turned her time to devoting herself to her family and nurturing her three daughters. The importance of distilling love and care brought her passion back to human nature, care and emotions in a more creative form this time. This streak came to the forefront in one of her daughter’s art class and she took it up as a passing hobby but now this beautiful form of art expression is her stress buster and a happy place to be.
It is the emotional balance and human sentiment that Gurdeep enjoys to replicate in her sculptural pieces using the sense of touch, texture with hand moulding technique, imagination and life experiences to create symbolic pieces. Love and care is incapsulated into each art piece, finishing it with the bronzing techniques which holds the sentiments being expressed with great strength and everlasting.expressed with great strength and everlasting impression just as strong as the bonds of love +between her family, work and art pieces.
