Threading Boundaries

Renowned contemporary artist Venus Sanghvi presents her ninth solo exhibition, “Threading Boundaries”.

Showcasing an exclusive series of encaustic abstracts on wood, this exhibition delves into the interplay of time, memory, and language through layered compositions that challenge perception and invite contemplation.

Venus Sanghvi’s artistic journey is a compelling dialogue between personal experiences and universal narratives. Her works are a visual symphony—layered with abstraction, text, and symbols—creating a rhythmic harmony between past and present. Using encaustic, an ancient medium of heated beeswax mixed with pigments, she builds her compositions through incising, burning, and layering, resulting in textured surfaces rich in depth and meaning.

Inspired by global cultures and the nuances of language, Sanghvi integrates diverse materials such as sindoor, abir, metal, and paper into her art. The exhibition explores themes of connectivity, historical resonance, and spiritual introspection, bridging tradition and modernity in a deeply personal yet universally relatable manner.

Sanghvi’s works have been showcased at prestigious institutions, including the Salarjung Museum, Hyderabad, and the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Centre, Washington DC. Her paintings have also graced Times Square, New York, and been part of the Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens Exhibit in the USA.
