I AM – Identity Art Marathon

The countdown for the second edition of ‘I AM – Identity Art Marathon’ has begun. Taking on a unique format, the festival unfolds over 24 days with a combination of 4 exhibitions (painting – figurative by Ranjan Kaul, abstract by Shahanshah Mittal, photographs by Manu Sharma, and drawings by Abid Zaidi).
To give viewers an immersive experience (both visual and performance based) and to help the audience engage and evolve, the festival ‘I AM – Identity Art Marathon’ will host a multitude of events in the form of talks, walks, live sessions and workshops.
The festival ‘I AM – Identity Art Marathon’ is conducted by Untitled Creations and curated by Aakshat Sinha. Some satellite events have also been added this year that involve Photo Walks, Meditation at Sunder Nursery, Slum Tourism at Sanjay Colony, and a Walk to Khairul Manazil to discuss the role of Women in Architecture supported by Alpaviram.
This year the event ‘I AM – Identity Art Marathon’ will feature almost 40 events including theatre, film making, poetry, heritage, comedy, fashion, music and much more. There will be workshops on Painting, Film Making, Theatre, Music, Cartoon, Doodling, Animation, and Resin art and Book Cover design.
Some of the highlight workshops during the festival include documentary film making workshop by Rajat Ghose, E7 Learn Through Arts- a specially designed workshop by Darshan Singh Grewal, Spill your Mind and your Emotions are two Experimental Resin Art workshops under the guidance of Harman Taneja and the Art of Storytelling by Anshu Mor.

Some other events include Humorous Storytelling by Anubhav Singh Bassi, Rajnish Kumar, Saiam Hasan, Neeti Palta, Devesh Dixit, Sid Sahani and Nitin Suukhija. There will also be events like Storytelling through Dance by Divya Goswami. Performances by Rajneesh Kapoor- the famous Standup comedian, Natalia Balshakova- Belorussian choir singer, and many poets like Raz Dehalwi, Saurabh Sadaf, Tauseef Ahmad, Kuldeep Kumar and others will also be a part of this festival.

Interactive and informative talks by Alka Raghuvanshi on Sarees of India, Sohail Hashmi on Stones that speak and Making of Indian Identity, Rakhshanda Jalil on her latest book ‘But you don’t look like a Muslim’, Shikhant Sablania on his 8 month Road trip from Cape Town to Cairo, Aftab Hussain on Hitchhiking through Russia, and Sonali Soni Pal on her Craft Trails in search of art clusters in Rural India will be featured at the festival.

Untitled Creations Private Limited has been instrumental in bringing firth untold or unrecognized stories in the form of books, graphic novels, talks, exhibitions (national and international) and is currently organizing the 2nd edition of I AM – Identity Art Marathon. Aakshat Sinha, as its Director, has selectively handpicked the projects to associate with like organising ‘Indian Contemporaries’ an exhibition of 44 Contemporary Indian Artists at Art Russia 2017, participated at and released graphic novels repeatedly at ComicCon India, Delhi, ‘Opening Russia-2019’ a travelling exhibition of Russian Masters in Delhi and 6 other cities of India over 2 months recently, and many path breaking initiatives.

Aakshat Sinha is a Delhi based Curator, Artist (painting and installation), Comic book creator, Writer, Poet, and Baker.
