As international art practices become consistently voluminous and limitless in their idiom, the challenge for the emergent artist who seeks to find his/her individual artistic mooring becomes ever more overwhelming. Gopa Trivedi’s practice is imbued with the steadiness of the ages. Her sharp-eyed attention to dispersed indications of lives once lived which resonate with her own personal depth of experience is quite distinct. There are discernable traces of provocations endured, gauntlets taken up and the gentle reconciliations required of existence. Gopa Trivedi’s practice has deepened over this decade to embrace nuanced interrogations into the origin of paradoxes. She sets about probing these with delicacy and poetic skillfulness. These interrogations resonate with more than what is visible. They speak of past and present as the armory of the future.
