Eleena Banik was a student of Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati, Santiniketan and did her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (Painting) in the same institution, since completion of her studies in Kala Bhavan, she received number of Awards, Scholarships & Fellowships from organisations like Charles Wallace India trust from the Govt. of India, including receiving of the President of India’s silver Plague as well as West Bengal Governor’s Gold Medal for her excellency in the field of Fine Arts. Till date she has exhibited her works in number of Group Shows and more than 32 one person shows worldwide including New York, Glasgow, London, Moscow besides major Indian Cities.
Eleena is a very hard working, passionate artist with extraordinary talents and she has created excellent artworks since her college days. Eleena is an exceptional personality among the artist-community of Kolkata having a socio-cultural ideology of her own with a feminist outlook.
