The Guild of Fine Art & Artists (GOFAA) is a non-profit organisation that aim has been to bring the visual artists community in India together. It has provided the artists with an Indian platform to promote their Art. Also aims to broaden the audience for contemporary Indian visual art, enhance opportunities for artists, and establish a continuous dialogue between the arts and the public through education and active participation in public art projects and funding.
It hasplanned to conduct ‘studycircle’&‘study tour’forits member. It hasalso planned to organizevariousart activities, like Art Camp,Workshop,Exhibitionand Fairto promotetheart ofit’smembers.
As a not-for-profit organization that encourages, promotes and supports innovative work in the field of the visual arts, GOFAA is committed to
• Working in collaboration with, and for the benefit of, our stakeholders -the artist community, students, art historians/critics/curators, collectors and art enthusiasts.
• Building a long-term relationship with other organizations, local and international, including museums, art schools, galleries, and government institutions to work together on regular art events, educational program,s and special exhibitions
• Developing active year-long public programming with the intention of bringing contemporary art closer to its audience.
• Encouraging art philanthropy in India by reaching out to private and corporate sponsors.
• Extending our resources to students and educational institutions with the aim of developing art education as a life tool.
Vision & Mission
The GOFAA’slong-term visionis to elicit ‘Globalacknowledgement ofIndianArt’.Itsmissionis to provideastrong platform for developing and promoting Indian Art & Artists. The endeavor to achieve these is manifested through certain laid out objectives:
• Forming a network of visual artists: painters, sculptors, architects and photographers.
• Equipping the Library with plenty of books. Encourage more members to access it freely and regularly.
• Organizing Lectures on Visual Art, Conduct Life Study sessions, arrange Film shows on Art.
• Holding Solo and Group exhibitions of Guild Members & other Artists.
• Publishing regular Newsletters; articles, essays, and other literature related to Visual Art through journals, magazines, souvenirs, catalogues.
• Keep excelling indesigning thepragmatically yet beautifully furnished ‘Art Gallery’ to display thebest Artworks from all over.
• Setting up Branches outside Kolkata for promotion of Visual Art.
