The power of photography lies in its ability to tell stories that often go unnoticed. My work revolves around documenting the lives of people, communities, and the environment, using the camera as a tool for advocacy and storytelling. I strive to capture the unseen narratives that shape the world around us, particularly focusing on marginalized groups and social issues that deserve greater visibility. Growing up in a small town in India, I’ve always been deeply connected to my roots, surrounded by the natural landscapes and communities of my village. My journey as a photographer has been inspired by the cultural richness and diversity of my surroundings, as well as the struggles and resilience of the people living in them. Through my lens, I aim to bring attention to their stories and voices, showcasing the beauty, challenges, and complexities of their lives. One of my ongoing projects, REFUGEE – A CREATURE OF CIRCUMSTANCES, focuses on the lives of Hindu families who fled Pakistan and have been living in refugee camps in Delhi. This project is a reflection on the historical and contemporary partitions that continue to shape these individuals’ lives—be they social, economic, religious, or linguistic. Through my images, I explore the impact of displacement on their daily existence, while also capturing their strength and the hope that persists amidst adversity. Photography allows me to bridge the gap between the subject and the audience, creating a visual dialogue that speaks to broader social issues. I seek to provide not just images, but a deeper understanding of the human condition—an insight into lives lived on the margins, the realities of environmental degradation, or the intricacies of cultural identity. Ultimately, my aim is to create imagery that resonates, informs, and advocates for change, encouraging viewers to reflect on the world beyond their immediate experience. Through exhibitions, collaborations, and publications, I hope to amplify these voices and contribute to the broader conversation on social justice, human rights, and environmental sustainability.
