About The Gujral Foundation

Mohit and Feroze Gujral, son and daughter-in-law of famed Indian Modernist Artist-Satish Gujral, set up the non-profit trust, focusing on contemporary cultural engagements with art, design and culture as its primary initiative. Mohit Gujral, a leading Indian architect is part of the core management and is on the executive board of India’s largest real estate development company. Feroze Gujral, entrepreneur and media personality, is on the advisory board of the Kochi Biennale and also sits on the board of the IGNCA. The Foundation has amongst other things, graciously arranged the loan of ‘Aspinwall’- the primary location of the Kochi Muziris Biennale since 2012. The foundation also commissioned the collateral exhibition My East is Your West at the 56th Venice Biennale, and supported the 55th Venice Biennale, South Asian artists at the 8th Berlin Biennale, and the V. S. Gaitonde: Painting as Process, Painting as Life (2014) exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum, New York. For the past three years it has fostered an astonishing array of activities, ideas and energies seeding many interesting projects. It is this dedication with inspiring and trusted partnerships that enables them to steadily expand their reach and realize their ambition to engage with challenging contemporary art. The foundation is continually committed to building infrastructures that sustain cultural freedom, social engagement and the artistic imagination. www.gujralfoundation.org
