Dr. Suryasnata Mohanty, born in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has a doctorate degree in Law. A twice gold medalist in Utkal University, she went on to do LLM from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. Moving from the legal profession to teaching Law in a University and working for education of underprivileged tribal children, Suryasnata found her calling in the canvas and her spirit in the colours which she has been engaged with since childhood, training under eminent artists. Her upbringing in the ancient city of Bhubaneswar inspires her works on temples and continuity of faith, her worldview informed by similies between structures and flows of life which she brings out on canvas in abstracts and impressions.
An avid traveller and freelance artist, she is currently based in Delhi.
