In today’s evolving society, the need for art institutions and groups that foster connection and positive energy is more crucial than ever. Inspired by this vision, eminent sculptor Gurmeet Goldie and renowned city artist Bharti Vandna have laid the foundation of KALANIDHI.
As per both the founders Kalanidhi, Chandigarh is dedicated to providing artists with essential resources and opportunities while engaging and educating the public in the arts. Goldie told that their foundation strives to build a vibrant community that upholds artistic freedom and expression for both artists and society at large. The Foundation is committed to fostering creativity and providing a platform for artists to showcase their works.
The inaugural event of the KALANIDHI Foundation- a group show of artworks of Chandigarh tricity artists was successfully held at Sector-17, Underpass from 2nd to 9th February 2025 with the support of Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi. The event showcased 132 artworks by senior and emerging city artists, celebrating artistic diversity and talent.
Bharti Vandna said that the foundation is poised to continue its mission of supporting the arts and inspiring future generations of creative minds. with a commitment to nurturing the arts, KALANIDHI will continue to organize exhibitions, workshops, interactive sessions, and art talks, fostering a dynamic space for creativity and cultural enrichment.
The Kala Nidhi Foundation of Art & Artists also unveiled its logo at this prestigious art exhibition, celebrating the talents and creativity of artists from various backgrounds.
Karan Gilhotra, Chair of PHDCCI Punjab, was the chief guest and honored the event. In his address, Mr. Gilhotra expressed his deep admiration for the artists’ dedication and passion. He emphasized the profound role of art in society, stating that art is more than just colors on a canvas or sculptures in stone It is a language of the soul— a bridge between imagination and reality, between emotions and expression. It speaks when words fail and connects hearts beyond boundaries. He further highlighted the importance of creativity in today’s fast-paced world, where technology and routine often take precedence. “In an era where time and technology consume us, art serves as a breath of fresh air,” said Gilhotra “Art reminds us to pause, feel, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us and lies within us.”
The Importance of Art & Creativity Art, as Mr. Gilhotra emphasized, is not just about technique but about storytelling and emotions. Every artwork tells the story of the artist’s journey, struggles, and dreams.
“Behind every brushstroke is an untold story, behind every sculpture a hidden thought,” he added “Each piece is a testament to the creativity, dedication, and bravery of the artist to express themselves.”
To the artists present he offered words of encouragement, urging them to continue their creative endeavors.”The world needs your vision, your imagination and your unique way of seeing the world. Your art has the power to inspire, heal, and create change,” he said
The inaugural event was a hit amongst city artists as almost all the eminent, renowned,d and upcoming artists ensured their presence and appreciated the efforts of organizers.
The exhibition witnessed a huge footfall of art appreciators and enthusiasts as the event went viral on social media.
