DESCRIPTION:Prepare to be drawn into a world of artistic wonder and profound reflections. The exhibit features 30 life-size figures in mild steel plate\, 20 bronzes\, and 30 drawings and watercolours. The artist aimed to demonstrate an analytical understanding of both Eastern and Western education through her work. Despite being at heart and in their soul an Indian\, most of her visual and observational skills were acquired in the West. \nFor the past four decades\, she had made London her home and workplace. Her artistic style is predominantly figurative\, drawing inspiration from various shapes and forms. Her approach is to capture the essence of the subject without excessive embellishments\, striving for simplicity of form. Like Cezanne\, she desires to follow the paths discovered in her artistic exploration. And she hopes that this exhibition will reveal whether she is on the right path in her journey. \nWith guidance from esteemed Indian artists and enriched by her studies in London\, Kiran Dixit Thapar’s impressive portfolio includes approximately 14 solo exhibitions and 10 group shows in India and the UK. Her unwavering dedication to her craft\, fueled by the serene environment of Santiniketan\, continues to inspire her artistic journey.
