SUMMARY:Kala-Likha (Art & Creation)
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition Kala-Likha\, featuring the works of Fourteen (14) Indian artists and Fourteen (14) Filipino Artists\, is highly exciting because of the diversity of the Artists from these two countries but unifying themes of their artworks with the sheer abundance of styles. Where our words fail and our voices seem unheard\, Art is a medium to express the existing or imminent social problems and the possible remedies by expressing through the artworks. In this exhibition\, the artists have manifested nostalgia\, history\, sense of responsibilities\, fear and hope in highly ingenious ways and conveyed the message very purposefully to the viewers. \nDue to covid-19 pandemic and lockdown situations\, artists and members of art communities were badly affected   but on the other hand they got enough time to explore more creative ideas and think beyond the boundaries. This international exhibition is held at a virtual art gallery\, giving a look and feeling of physical art exhibition in a virtual world. The technical and creative team have done a marvellous and incredible job of executing this art exhibition in a very short span of time with full enthusiasm and zeal. The organizers have a long term vision to create an international platform to showcase the artworks of artists from the different countries through offline / online or virtual exhibitions and other sustainable ways in the New Normal. \nParticipating artists in this exhibition from India are Asurvedh\, Brajesh Verman\, Dharmendra Rathore\, Hemraj\, Jagadish Dey \, Kalicharan Gupta\, Kamaljit Bomrah\, Krishan Ahuja\, Laxman Aelay \,Niren Sen Gupta\, Prem Singh \, Santosh Verma\, suresh Kumar\, and Tapan Dash. \n\n\nAbout Participating Artists :  \n\n\nBrajesh Verman\, who retired as a Senior IPS officer\, has a very traditionally and culturally deep passion in the art that depicts the Sumerian Culture through his Paintings\, Sculptures and Writings. His artworks on wood\, black and white marble and acrylic and foil paper on canvas paintings have brought him a brighter side of life which manifests a holistic approach and balance in the life. A National awardee for his art exhibition\, he has participated in many solo and group shows for the last three decades. \nHemarj\, Born in 1968 in India\, is an internationally renowned contemporary artist. The harmony of the three layers of physicality\, heart\, and intellect is evident in Hemraj’s artworks. The artist’s canvas is made up of myriad layers of paint\, which unite to form an integrated narrative\, and at the same time\, stand out against one another. \nAsurvedh keeps the birds with monumental ruins of human figures by offering a prayer. His sculptures show his innate behavior\, memories and emotions for the birds and monuments to become active. He wishes birds to return to their home and make the trees lively. In his works\, viewers can see birds are depicted like men flying them because he assumes nature and birds should be free from unnecessary and destructive intrusions. Whenever he creates human faces\, he creates also the old architectural remains\, birds and trees to fulfill pleasure in our lives and give a new dimension and passion. In his several works\, there are single or paired human figurines which are taller than usual human torso signifying that they are eager to touch the horizon. Through this medium of creating the Sculptures\, he wishes to see the identity\, characteristic and esteem of human being in a modified way.  \nSuresh Kumar\, a keen observer of the eccentricities of the world as an artist\, a sculptor and a curator\, firstly impressions are very important. These imprints\, be it of new people with whom he interacts for the first time or of contemporary world issues which surface and transform with time\, after they leave an indelible mark on his mind\, invigorate him to conjure their manifestation in unparalleled pieces of art. As an astute observer of facial expressions and bestowed with a transcendent imaginative ability to weave a tale about a person’s life from his reflections\, Suresh translates the depth of his contemplation into the curves and rhythms of his art. Each facial feature\, be it the lips or the nose or the ears\, is deftly articulated in accordance with that story. \nParticipating Artists from the Philippines are Philiip Badon\, Yelcast\, Thelma Badon\, Nemi Miranda\, Bing Famoso \, August Santiago\, Aaron Bautista\, Badz Magsumbol\, Kristina Manansala\, Lara Latosa \, Phoebe Beltran\, Raks Malota\, Mylene Quito and Boysie Villavicencio.
