SUMMARY:Slow Is The New Urgent
DESCRIPTION:Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) is thrilled to announce a transformative art installation housed in the KNMA Art Passage\, the skybridge connecting Nexus Select CITYWALK and DLF South Court Mall – ‘Slow Is The New Urgent’\, curated by Avik Debdas. The location of the exhibition adheres to KNMA’s mission of integrating meaningful artistic experiences into everyday public spaces.A colorful trail of turtles sets the pace\, inviting visitors through an immersive passage of artistic contemplation. \nFeaturing eleven contemporary artists—Anshu Jakhar\, C.K. Rajan\, Hifzul Kabeer\, K.M. Madhusudanan\, Manveer Singh\, Mohd. Intiyaz\, Pallavi Singh\, Schön Mendes\, Slipa Sheeja\, Sonam Chaturvedi\, and Tahsin Akhtar— an environment that gradually shifts from digital and commercial sensory stimulation quiet introspection\, encouraging slow looking. The visitor then crosses a sanctuary of muted birds\, televisions that blare a chorus of toxicity\, rivers dyed in synthetic excess\, and many other such markers of the rampant consumerism that litter the wider world. The ‘thinking passage’ also goes on to bring to the forefront the omnipresent digital surveillance that pervades \nmodern life. The works illuminate how our every choice\, pause\, and click is methodically recorded\, monetized\, and fed back into algorithms that curate our next impulse. The exhibition confronts visitors with the unsettling reality that our desires are increasingly engineered rather than authentic—optimized\, and resold to us through the manipulative language of urgency\, transforming even our attention itself into a marketable commodity. \nThis exhibition is an extension of KNMA’s ongoing commitment to democratizing art. By establishing this thoughtful corridor in one of Delhi’s busiest commercial centers\, the museum invites diverse audiences to experience how art can create moments of pause within our increasingly urgent world. Each segment of the passage encourages visitors to engage with what literary scholar Arden Reed describes as art that ” waits mutely—patiently—for us to animate them.

SUMMARY:Ana’s Spring Forth
DESCRIPTION:‘Ana’s Spring Forth’ The Art Walk of Mahua Ray \nThis season\, the prestigious AFIACS Gallery will come alive with the evocative artistry of Mahua Ray\, as she presents her much-anticipated solo exhibition\, Ana’s Spring Forth. From the delicate whisper of a memory to the vibrant expression of emotion\, Mahua invites you on a soul-stirring journey through her mesmerizing paintings and sculptures. \nMahua’s artistic journey began under open skies\, where\, as a child\, she traced faces in clouds with her Maa\, her first muse. This innocent curiosity grew into a lifelong pursuit of beauty and truth\, nurtured by the guidance of legendary masters like Devi Prasad Roychowdhury. \nHer works speak with quiet intensity\, blending fluid strokes and rich textures with deep emotional insight. This latest series of oil paintings and bronze sculptures explores the ephemeral and eternal nature of human emotions. It is a poetic reflection on the fleeting moments that shape our inner worlds. \nAn award-winning artist with both national and international recognition\, Mahua’s creations have graced galleries across Mumbai\, Bangalore\, New York\, Paris\, London\, Dubai\, Goa\, Ahmedabad\, Canada\, and Delhi. Her art finds home with distinguished collectors in India and abroad\, cherished for its impressionist elegance and philosophical depth. \nIn Ana’s Spring Forth\, clouds become storytellers—soft forms transforming into visual poetry. With graceful curves and vibrant expressions\, Mahua captures the vitality of the feminine spirit and the universal language of emotion. Each piece is a window into her imaginative world\, where logic and lyricism walk hand in hand. \nThis exhibition is more than a display—it is an emotional experience\, a celebration of creativity\, and an invitation to reconnect with the beauty that surrounds us. Join us in the presence of Chief Guest Biman B Das to honour a body of work that inspires\, moves\, and uplifts.

SUMMARY:A Moment in Modernity
DESCRIPTION:A Moment in Modernity is a landmark exhibition of works by artists Sharmila Thakur and Haren Thakur\, curated by acclaimed art historian Dr. Alka Pande. The show presents the couple’s distinct yet complementary artistic practices—Sharmila’s earthy\, vibrant sculptures and paintings inspired by tribal life and nature\, and Haren’s large-format mixed media paintings exploring metaphysical and structural possibilities of the natural world. Both artists\, trained at Kala Bhavan in Santiniketan\, bring a deep connection to tribal culture\, Eastern modernism\, and indigenous materials into their work. The exhibition also features an interactive session with the artists and Dr. Mandakini Devi on the closing day.

Inspired by the ancient Indian philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — meaning “The world is one family” — the exhibition promotes the idea that true wisdom lies in seeing all life as connected\, beyond boundaries of identity\, religion\, and culture. \n“For me\, painting is a spiritual process\,” shares Singha. “It allows me to feel joy\, sorrow\, and stillness all at once. Just as the wind constantly shifts\, our emotions and lives are always changing — and I try to express that energy through my art.” \nSingha’s works are known for their subtle symbolism and delicate layering of colour\, creating visual spaces that feel both personal and universal. Each canvas becomes a quiet reflection of transformation — not just in the external world\, but within the self. \nWith an artistic career spanning nearly 30 years\, Bhaskar Singha has developed a distinctive visual language that blends classical Indian thought with modern concerns. Starting with watercolour\, his early works were known for their soft luminosity and technical finesse\, often achieved through multiple translucent layers. Over time\, he evolved toward acrylic on canvas\, maintaining the meditative quality of his earlier style while expanding his thematic range. \nSingha’s art often bridges everyday life and timeless philosophy. Whether depicting social issues like child labour or offering tributes to iconic figures such as Tagore\, Vivekananda\, and Satyajit Ray\, his paintings capture both the emotional and the contemplative. \nhis artworks works like “Youth”\, “Maa Sarada”\, and compositions inspired by the teachings of the Ramakrishna Mission reflect his deep connection to Indian spiritual heritage. Through recurring motifs such as a lone runner or the quiet breeze of a beach\, Singha brings a sense of movement and inner stillness to the canvas. \nHe has exhibited widely in leading venues across India including Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai)\, Birla Academy (Kolkata)\, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath (Bangalore)\, Canvas Art Gallery (New Delhi)\, and multiple successful editions at India Habitat Centre. His 2023 show at Visual Art Gallery\, also titled “Realms of Peace”\, was lauded for its thoughtful presentation and emotional resonance. \nWith “Realms of Peace – V”\, Bhaskar Singha continues his artistic journey\, offering viewers not just paintings\, but a space for inward reflection — where colour and form become a language of silence\, healing\, and unity \nInauguration: Tuesday\, 6th August 2025\, 6 : 30 pm

SUMMARY:Urban Insignia - An exhibition by Swapan Bhandary
DESCRIPTION:Urban Insignia is an exhibition of paintings by Swapan Bhandary that explores city life\, its energy\, confusion\, and hidden stories. Through bold colours and busy\, detailed compositions\, he captures what it feels like to live in a modern city. \nSwapan’s paintings are filled with various objects and figures\, some beautiful\, some ordinary\, some disturbing\, and some comforting. Each element has a reason to be there\, holding memories\, emotions\, and personal meaning. These elements come together like pieces of a puzzle\, reflecting the artist’s thoughts and experiences of the city. \nBy making his paintings crowded and full\, he depicts the feeling of being surrounded by people\, noise\, and movement\, just like in a real city. The title Urban Insignia refers to the signs\, symbols\, and marks that the city leaves on us\, and that we leave behind as we move through it. \nThis exhibition invites viewers to slow down\, look closely\, and find meaning in the visual noise\, much like one would in a city street.

SUMMARY:Salon : The India Way
DESCRIPTION:Nature Morte proudly launches its bold new Salon Series\, a dedicated vertical for International and Indian Modern Art\, led by gallerist Devashi Jain. This initiative marks a significant expansion of the gallery’s vision\, creating a trusted space for discerning collectors to engage with artworks that have stood the test of time\, both from India and across the globe. \nThe series opens with its inaugural exhibition\, Salon: The India Way\, curated by Poonji Nath\, at Nature Morte\, Colaba\, Mumbai\, from 15 August to 15 September 2025. Inspired by the historic Paris Salon\, the exhibition brings together modernist works from Europe and India in a densely hung and intellectually charged display. By placing Indian masters such as Manjit Bawa\, Ram Kumar\, Zarina Hashmi\, FN Souza\, Tyeb Mehta\, and Sadanand Bakre alongside iconic European artists like Pablo Picasso\, Alberto Giacometti\, Pierre-Auguste Renoir\, Paul Signac\, and Eugene Delacroix\, the show reimagines modernism as a shared\, simultaneous movement rather than a one-way inheritance from West to East.
