Among the highlights is Lot no. 15\, Untitled (The Journey)\, which reflects the human experience of labour\nand endurance. The warm\, earthy tones highlight the physical movement and emotional passage while Khanna’s layered mixed-media surface enhances the sense of the passing and lived time. \nFrom his Emmaus series\, Lot no. 17\, Emmaus\, an oil on canvas\, draws on the biblical moment of revelation\, capturing a quiet encounter charged with spiritual recognition. The figures\, clothed in simple white garments and arranged around a table\, are rendered with restrained gestures that are nonetheless rich in meaning. \nAnother vibrant highlight from his Bandwallah series is Lot no. 8\, The Wedding Procession (Pentaptych)\, a mixed-media work that unfolds as a dynamic celebration of movement and sound. This work showcases a wedding procession of figures caught in movement and sound. The bold reds\, yellows\, and blues create a visual cadence\, while overlapping bodies\, instruments\, and gestures suggest music\, festivity\, and collective participation. \nSpanning over six decades of artistic practice\, Across The Century offers a rare and intimate insight into the work of Krishen Khanna\, an artist deeply rooted in the social fabric of his time\, capturing moments of transition\, memory\, and quiet human observation.
